You can\'t take back time wasted

I met Lori when she was pregnant with Little Pete, I was dating the brother of her then boyfriend. Lori gave me a place to live so I could move to the Appleton area, closer to my family & friends. She never asked for anything in return. I have so many fun memories of the fun person Lori was and many more when I needed a shoulder to cry on, she was always there. Lori was a great friend.

In 2000 we had a fight and I stopped talking to her until 2004, when we ended up talking on instant messenger. It was nice that I got that chance to talk to her and get over the anger because that was the last time I talked to her. I wasted the time I could have spent being there for her being mad and putting off going to visit her until it was too late and she had moved. I always think I'll do things tomorrow, I'll call my friends tomorrow, I'll visit tomorrow. Now I have to live with that regret.

My Memory Of Lori

Lori was a special and precious friend to me. Even tho I did not get to speak with her on very many occassions... I knew that our friendship was always there. She taught me many things in life, also. One very important lesson is to never judge a book by its cover.

Lori always had the kind of sense of humor that one looks for in a friend. She went thru so many hard times in her life... but she always managed to get thru them. She was a strong and independant woman and I feel very lucky to have known her. I hope that, one day, I will see her again as well. Until then... I only hope that she knew that I did miss her and that I thought her friendship was cherished as every friend should be.

The last time I spoke with Lori, before she passed away, was about a week or so after my Dad passed away, back in May, 2007. I was very happy to hear her voice and to talk with her... even tho it wasn't for very long. Living out in a different state... I have learned to cherish the time I spend with others and to cherish, also, the time I spend talking with others on the phone... whether it be family... or friends. And I will never forget this person I called, and still call, my friend.

Lori could always cheer me up when I needed to be. I remember how happy she was when she had been reunited with her son. She and I had been hanging out, one day, and she said 'Guess What, Karen... I got my son back in my life !' And I said 'Lori, that's great !!' And Lori's face is just a face that no one forgets... at least no one who had been around her... or who knew her, personally. I thought that Lori was a perfect example of someone who had strength and a lot of wisdom even during the hard times in life.

I just wish I could have been in Wisconsin to say goodbye to Lori... or... I wish I could have gotten to see her more and hung out with her more before moving to Washington State. But I guess that's just how things go sometimes. We can't all be by the ones we Love all the time. That's just the way life goes. I'm sure starting to learn that now that I am half way across the country from Wisconsin, where all my friends and family are... and where I grew up.

Robert is right... Lori was a very good example of how Christ uses people to make a big difference in other people's lives. And now... she can continue to make an example now that she is in her new home. I know that Christ would have been very proud of Lori and the person she became when she was on this earth. She touched the lives of so many people... including me. And I will always be grateful that I had her as my friend.

Goodbye was never a word I believed in... but... I miss you, Lori. Rest In Peace... Goodbye !

Always,
Karen Harris

The Lord worked through Lori to touch SO many lives

When I was younger, believing in santa, I always wondered how he could give presents every where. An adult told me that santa works through other people, like santa's helpers. I use this analogy in case children read this, it will make things easier to understand that the Lord and Christ work the same way... THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE.

Lori was a very fine example, how God used her to share so much compassion, love, friendship, and a hug when ever someone was discouraged, feeling down, or just needed someone to talk to... LORI WAS THERE. Many called her little mama, because being an experienced mom herself, she would use that skill to take care of and watch over others, as a friend as well.

I thank the Lord for bringing Lori into my life. We learned so much FROM EACH OTHER, and where we were lonely, hurt or empty, we both helped each other.

God bless you Lori, and thank you for showing me what TRUE love is all about!!!
